International perspectives on COVID-19: Personal experience, risk perceptions, optimism and vaccination intentions
(USC Covid-19 Grant; PI: Dr. Anne Caroline Rudisill – USC HPEB Dept; Co-I: Dr. Harrison)
This project leverages our existing partnership with IPSOS-MORI—a global research and marketing firm—to rapidly deploy a largescale (N=4,000) quantitative survey across four countries (i.e., Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, United States) in order to evaluate individual perceptions of COVID-19 risks, risk-related behaviors (e.g., social distancing, consumer behaviors), and attitudes/intentions toward vaccination. Each country’s sample (n=1,000) will be nationally representative, allowing for separate analysis for each country, as well as comparative analyses.
Specific aims include:
To examine potential differences in risk perception related to COVID-19 and predictors of risk perception across four major countries;
To investigate predictors of key behaviors (e.g., social distancing, “herd” behaviors) and beliefs (e.g., trust in government, vaccine intention) related to COVID-19.
